What Does It Actually Cost to Build a Mobile App in Oman?

4 min read

"How much does an app cost?" is close to impossible to answer honestly without knowing what the app actually needs to do — and any quote given before that conversation happens is usually either a lowball that grows once real scope appears, or padded high to cover unknowns the company hasn't bothered to ask about.

The biggest cost driver isn't the platform, it's the feature list. A simple booking or ordering app with a handful of screens is a fundamentally different project from a multi-feature customer platform with payments, accounts, notifications and an admin dashboard. Get specific about what the app needs to do before expecting a specific number back.

The second driver is native versus cross-platform. Building separately and natively for iOS and Android gives the best performance but roughly doubles the development work; a cross-platform approach ships to both from one codebase for less, with a small trade-off in how deeply it can use platform-specific features. The right call depends on your audience and budget, not a default answer.

The third, often underestimated cost is what happens after launch. An app isn't finished the day it hits the app store — bug fixes, OS updates, analytics review and iteration based on real user behaviour are ongoing, and a quote that only covers development and stops at launch is quietly leaving out a real part of the total cost.

And in Oman specifically, factor in bilingual Arabic and English support with proper right-to-left layout from the design stage — retrofitting Arabic support after an app is built in English usually costs more than building both together from the start.

A realistic quote needs a real conversation about scope first. Let's talk about what you're actually trying to build. Our application development team scopes every project in detail before quoting, so there are no surprises partway through.
